The Pillars of the Earth
Love the idea of this book, and the great story of the people who built the monumental cathedral of England. Follett painted a great historical picture, and brought to life the origins not only of the cathedral, but the entire society surrounding the great achievement of the past. We still appreciate these wonderful structures today, and a glimpse of the work and dedication devoted to these monuments, help to appreciate the 'pillars' even more.
